Could We Change The Universal Channel Like A TV Channel?

Imagine you have a television remote that wasn't just a television remote. What if this remote could also change the universal channel, and even switch to other dimensions. Don't like this dimension? Sick of all the paperwork your boss keeps harassing you about? No problem, just switch over to another dimension. Even take a holiday there for a while, once you've had enough, just press a button and you're back home in your own dimension. Brings a whole new meaning to the term "channel surfing" right?

Of course the reality of this awesome device would only be possible in the distant future. But scientists are already laying down the foundations to make this a reality, thanks to the fourth level of parallel universes and M-Theory.

This level of parallel universes and dimensions could exist in the same space and time as our own, there could be a lion sitting right where you are now, in another dimension of course. There could theoretically be an infinite number of the dimensions existing like layers on all around us. Hard to imagine? Think of your television, you can see and hear everything that's on one channel because your television is tuned to that frequency. But that doesn't mean the other channels no longer exist, they still exist and carry on as they always have, in the same space and time as the rest of the channels, you just aren't tuned to any of them, and therefore cannot see them. So what if there possibly thousands of worlds around us, living breathing creatures, fireballs from a volcanic eruption, even an alien invasion happening all around you, but you're just not tuned to that dimensions frequency? It's a spectacular realisation with endless possibilities.

Physicists believe these extra dimensions and universes could actually exist, and they may be created by either quantum fluctuations, or by "Branes" Smashing together. These two concepts are incredibly complex in their own respects, and I won't go into much detail. But for now lets just picture two pieces of paper, one on top of the other, separated by a few millimetres. These two pieces of paper are blowing around in the wind and eventually these two pieces of paper will collide in different areas. Now imagine these pieces of paper are each a parallel universes or "Branes", and that each collision creates a new universe or Brane. This is a simplified explanation for this part of M-Theory.

So how can we tell if these extra dimensions really exist? Surprisingly scientists are using Quantum Mechanics, the study of some of the smallest imaginable particles, smaller than even atoms, to prove the existence of an entire universe.

The Quantum world is an indefinite and chaotic world full of all sorts of weird and wonderful particles, from electrons and protons, to all manner of unimaginably small objects. None of which seem to know what they're doing. According to Quantum Mechanics, an electron, the particle that carries electricity, can be in two places at the same time. Other particles can appear out of nothing in one spot, then completely disappear into nothing and reappear out of nothing somewhere completely different. But lets just focus on those electrons for now.

An electron is described as being in many different places at once, in parallel states. Now, we know our whole universe was once smaller than an electron and if an electron can be in different places at once in parallel states, then the universe must also exists in many places at once in parallel states. Once you realize that, then you inevitably get parallel universes, there's simply no other choice.

Scientists are currently trying to either confirm or disprove this theory using giant particle accelerators like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, and the Tevatron Collider at Fermi-Lab. Using these massive scientific machines, they are trying to find the Gravition, the particle they believe is responsible for carrying gravity.

Gravity as we all know it, is what's responsible for breaking our phones when we drop them. But gravity also serves a greater purpose, it holds the planets of our solar system in orbit around the sun, as well as the moon orbiting the Earth. It even keeps the entire milky way together. But in spite of all that, it's actually an incredibly weak force. The simple action of lifting your pen off the desk has overcome the force of gravity. So why is gravity so weak? Scientists believe that gravity is so weak because gravitons are capable of jumping to other dimensions. So by using a particle accelerator to smash particles into each other at close to the speed of light, they are hoping to see the graviton go into the other dimension, or more specifically, not see it.

Surprisingly they hope to confirm the existence of the graviton, by never even seeing it. It's actually a simple method of looking for something based on th concept that if all other possibilities have been exhausted, whatever is left must be the answer, no matter how implausible it may be. The theory states that if they smash a Proton and an Anti-Proton together, they will create an intense ball of energy, within which particles will come from the remains of the protons. These particles however only live for billionths and even trillionths of a second. But scientists don't think they'll ever actually see the graviton, because it would have already escaped to another dimension at the exact moment of the impact.

So how can we prove the existence of something we can never see? In order to answer this question, scientists are hoping to put these particle collisions back together, and if there's any unexplained or missing energy once its all back together, that would most likely be the missing graviton. The logic behind it is that at the very instant of the collision, the graviton will escape to another dimension, and therefore will not be detected by the equipment. Its like getting a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece, except in this case, a missing piece is what you want.

If the scientists at the particle colliders can find (or should I say lose) these gravitons, it may very well confirm the theory that we are surrounded by extra dimensions and universes. Of course there is a lot more work to be done before such a radical theory could be confirmed. But if it ever is, it would bring about massive changes to how we perceive the world around us. But could we ever travel to these extra dimensions and universes. It may be possible if we could focus enough energy at a single point in space, to tear a hole in space itself and create a wormhole to a parallel universe, or perhaps we could change our tuning to that of the other dimension's frequency? unfortunately no-one really knows, there are theories and models both for an against this idea, but with the advances in modern physics, science is seriously considering the possibility of extra dimensions and Parallel Universes.

But for now we're still firmly stranded here in this dimension, so for now, it looks like we'll just have to listen to our boss and get on with that paperwork!

Time Travel: It's Been Been Done Before!

Could we really travel through time? The short answer is yes! That's right. We all have the ability to leap forward through time, even if we don't realize it. If you wanted to jump to the future, you can simply go to sleep and wake up a few hours later right? Of course that's cheating the question. We want to be able to go back and redo those silly mistakes we made many years ago. who doesn't wish they could go back and talk to their 15-year-old self? Tell them not to make the mistakes you did (or they will). Or perhaps you'd rather travel 500 years into the future and see those flying cars we were promised by the year 2000. Fortunately, time travel is theoretically possible.

In fact there is no law in physics that prevents time travel. That's right, according to all the laws of physics we know, it's perfectly plausible to travel through time at will. But as the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. Time travel is an extremely dangerous endeavor with devastating consequences, and is also riddled with paradoxes.

For example, what if I travelled back in time and prevented World War II? Sounds like a brilliant idea right? Countless lives would be saved, I'd be hailed as a hero! Not necessarily. Although I'd be saving lives, I'd also be destroying others. What about all the technology that we rely on today that was developed during the war, such as jet engines and nuclear power. In fact the world map could be completely different. We could actually be worse off than simply leaving history as it was.

Another famous time travel paradox is the grandfather paradox, which basically states that if we were to say for instance, I travel back to a time before my parents were born and prevent my grandfather from meeting my grandmother. My parents couldn't have met and thus, I would never have been born. So how could I have gone back in time to prevent my grandparents from meeting in the first place.

So we can see that time travel could be a bad idea, but let's say we really want to go back in time, how would we do it? Well first we need to understand how time works.

Time is something we are all very familiar with, we all know what it is, but yet we can't see it, touch it, we can't seem to interact with it in any way, we can only observe it. Isaac Newton thought that time was constant and never deviated, which would of course make time travel impossible. Even Einstein believed it was impossible, yet it is his equations that make it possible. Einstein theorized that space and time are inexplicably linked in what he refers to as "space-time". So in theory, if I was to warp space with something extremely powerful like a black hole, I would also be warping time. While this appears to be true and scientists continue to explore its possibilities, the real possibility for time travel, seems to be in his other theory; Relativity. In fact time travel using relativity isn't just a theory, it's actually been done, several times! Now you probably think I'm crazy but the secret seems to be in going extremely fast.

According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, no object with mass may travel faster than the speed of light, which is an astonishing 299,792,458 metres per second in a vacuum (that's no air). That's an incredible 1,080 million kilometres an hour! So according to General Relativity, we can only travel at 99.99% the speed of light. But lets say for instance that I'm sitting at the back of a plane travelling at the speed of light and I walk to the front of the plane from the back at a rate of 10 kilometres an hour. I'll leave the equations out of this, but that would mean that my speed plus the speed of the plane would mean that I'm travelling at 1,080 million and ten kilometres an hour, which is 10km/h faster than light, right? Wrong. According the theory of relativity, time would actually slow down for me to prevent me from travelling faster than light. Sounds weird doesn't it.

Of course this scenario would never happen in real life, as I have already said we can't travel at or faster than the speed of light. In fact you would need more than an infinite supply of fuel to travel faster than light, which is obviously impossible.

So then what is relativity? Einsteins theory of relativity basically states that if I'm driving down the road at 50km/h and drive past someone standing on the side of the road, to them I would appear to be travelling at 50km/h, I'm sure you already know this. However to me in the car, they too would travel past me at 50km/h. But then if someone where to drive beside me in another car travelling at 50km/h, to them I would appear to be completely stationary. Hard to believe? It's the same thing that makes it look the car driving beside you on the highway sometimes seems to be floating just outside your window. I'll leave the complicated equations out of this for now, but you can use simple addition and subtraction to confirm this theory. If you're travelling in the same direction as the object you're observing, in this case the other car, you subtract your speed from theirs. So 50km/h minus 50km/h is equal to 0km/h. so they would appear to be stationary. If we're traveling in the opposite direction we add our speed to theirs. So 50km/h plus another 50km/h is equal to 100km/h. So if we drove past the other car at the same speed in the opposite direction, they would appear to be travelling at 100km/h.

So how does all this work, and more importantly, how did they actually manage to travel through time? Well as it turns out, the faster we travel, the slower time will pass. This was proven when scientists placed an atomic clock, which is an extremely accurate clock down to one billionth of a second, on the space shuttle and observed it its behavior. Before launch the clock was perfectly synced with another atomic clock here on earth, and once the shuttle had returned to earth they put the two clocks together. They then discovered the clock from the shuttle was slightly behind the clock that remained on earth. meaning time had past slower for the clock on the shuttle than the clock that remained on Earth.

So basically astronauts are in fact also time travellers. Sergei Krikalev, the current record holder for the longest time spent in space (about 804 days or 2.2 years) is actually half a second behind the rest of the world. furthermore, scientists have actually calculated that if we could orbit the Earth at 99.99% the speed of light for 7 whole years, we would actually land back on earth 500 years in the future. This effect is known as Time Dilation. What a spectacular realisation! Time travel may actually be within our reach after all. The only problem is inventing a machine or vehicle capable of travelling that fast. Unfortunately it looks like that might be just out of our reach for now. We would actually need the power of a whole star to get to that speed.

But what about travelling back in time? So far neither general or special relativity allow for travelling backwards in time and it appears as though no other laws of physics will allow travel to the past. Such travel to the past, as stated above would lead to paradoxes that could result in the collapse of an entire universe, or a completely new one to be formed. This is part of the Many World Interpretation of Quantum Theory. There are other theories to travel both forward and backwards in time such as black holes and wormholes, but I'll discuss those in the future.

So for now it looks like we could theoretically travel to the future, but unfortunately we can't go back and tell our younger self not to buy that car from that dodgy looking salesman, or to buy stocks in Apple and Microsoft when they first start out. So we'll just have to settle for travelling forwards in time at the same rate we always have, and just to wait to see what the future holds.

The Most Amazing Near Death Experience

Near death experiences are an amazing and important bridge between rigorous, scientific fields of research and the more esoteric topics of spirituality. Near Death Experiences, as a genre, provide quite entertaining reading, no matter a person's religious convictions. Some who feel NDEs might only be manifestations of oxygen-starved neurons in the brain, can even find entertaining value in these habitually best-selling stories. But every once in a while an NDE account emerges that must waylay the doubters and reminds us the field of research is much more than just a feel-good story. I found no NDE story more convincing than that of Dr. George Rodonaia.

Dr. Rodonaia's story is not new, but it is also not well publicized. That may be because his story occurred before the age in which the mass media would have exploited it, allowing him to live out the remainder of his life in relative peace. For those of you who don't know the story of Dr. Rodonaia, I'll briefly recount the basis of why I feel it is the most authentic and believable NDE ever reported. Dr. Rodonaia was a vocal dissident in the Soviet Union in the 1970s; not a particularly safe or secure reputation to have in that country at that point in time. He worked on the publication, Iberia, an underground freedom newspaper, making him a target of the KGB, the Soviet Union's all powerful internal and external security service.

Exceptionally intelligent, Dr. Rodonaia was invited to pursue advanced doctoral research at Yale University in the US at the spry young age of 18, in 1974. Lacking a family at home to ensure he would not seek asylum in the US, the Soviet Union disallowed the opportunity for him to leave and study in the US. Just two years later, however, Dr. Rodonaia was married and a new father so the Soviet government grudgingly allowed him to leave so long as his family remained behind as hostage collateral.

However, on the day Dr. Rodonaia was scheduled to fly to the US, the KGB allegedly attempted to kill him, thus silencing a likely overseas dissident who would no longer be (easily) within their grasp. As he waited on a sidewalk for a taxi to pick him up for the ride to the airport, a passing car jumped the curb and headed directly towards him, successfully avoiding a few trees in the process of running him down. The car struck Dr. Rodonaia at a high rate of speed, throwing him about ten meters before he landed facedown. Brutally, the car then drove over him a second time, almost assuredly to guarantee he had been killed. Dr. Rodonaia suffered broken ribs, torn muscles, mangled feet, and other internal injuries, resulting in his death at the scene of the incident. When the ambulance arrived, Dr. Rodonaia was devoid of life and was promptly taken to a morgue in Tbilisi.

This is where the case becomes most unique. Morgues in Tbilisi are not like morgues in the US. Cadavers are quick-frozen immediately upon arrival and kept in that state for three days before an autopsy is performed or the deceased body is otherwise dispensed. As such, Dr. Rodonaia's body was stone-cold dead and frozen for three days as it laid in state at the morgue in Tbilisi, Georgia, USSR.

During those three days, Dr. Rodonaia's consciousness passed over to the spirit world and had a highly developed experience which he later brought back with him. That's right! Dr. Rodonaia spontaneously returned from the dead during the autopsy after being dead and frozen for three days. He was immediately transported to a hospital where he slowly recovered after many months of intense therapy. Dr. Rodonaia eventually immigrated to the US in 1989, bringing his story and experiences in the afterlife with him. While there have been a lot of wonderful NDEs, I've never come across another that demanded as much serious consideration.

The Laws of Spiritual Quantum Physics

The new paradigm of Spiritual Quantum Physics is based upon the following axioms:

(1) You are to God as your cells are to your body.

(2) You are a dynamic unit of energy living and moving and having your being within another infinite dynamic unit of energy called God.

(3) All is energy in multi sets of ascending and descending cycles.

(4) The only thing happening in the Universe is energy in relationships.

This tells us that all the physical objects chairs, pens, planets, people and even the universe are no more than manifestations of the mental thoughts of God, you and I and the collective humanity.

There are no physical objects 'out there' only the manifestation of thoughts. Take away the individual who is thinking the thought about something and it will disappear from the physical world.

If no on thinks about the Golden Gate Bridge, If all writings, pictures and images of this bridge were destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge would 'blink out' of the known physical world and back into the non-physical part of God's mind waiting for the next person to think about it.

We are all souls, 'finite' units of dynamic energy projected out of the Mind of God into the Quantum Ocean.

The Quantum Ocean is an infinite body of thinking intelligent energy. There is no time there. No past, present nor future. Only the 'NOW1'.

There is no breadth, width or length in the Quantum Ocean. Only the 'HERE!'.

Therefore there exists only the "HERE NOW!'.

The Quantum Ocean is the playing ground manifested by God for all the billions of souls to use to work out their destinies and to experience physical life.

There is the physical part of the Quantum Ocean where you, I, the planets exist in physical form. Then there is the non-physical part of the Quantum Ocean where all the infinite possibilities of existence exist.

We are divine blueprints in the Mind of God experiencing life in the divine blueprint called "our universe.'

Within the non-physical part of the Quantum Ocean is an infinite number of divine blueprints yet to be discovered and manifested onto our physical plane.

How do they manifest? Thoughts are things. Man thinks these divine blueprints into the physical world out of the Quantum Ocean with his mind.

Where do you think the great inventors, writers, creative people get their ideas? Ideas are from the divine blueprints in the Quantum Ocean.

Edison had to think about the electric light bulb and try 10,000 experiments before he generated, with his thoughts, enough energy to bring this divine blueprint out of the non-physical into the physical.

You can do the same. Therefore think only big thoughts.

The Real Zombies

We see the faces of strangers everywhere we go. We see them in the supermarket migrating from one isle to the next checking their shopping lists and filling their carts. You see them on the busy streets rushing to get their appointments. And in their cars on the highway speeding past you. Their names and personal identities are a mystery. You do not know their connections or history. These unnamed beings simply blend into the background as you go about your day. You are too busy to take notice of them. It would be appropriate to call these strangers zombies, but since that term brings up images of the walking undead, I'll just call them "extras."

 The extra theory asserts that these entities are inserted into our experience to fill in the background. They are almost like props in a movie. Life would seem strange without extras. If you tune in to almost any sitcom, you will see movie extras. When the main characters are in a public place, extras can be seen moving about. Since we focus on the main characters, our attention is taken away from the extras. This is also true of our personal reality. Extras enter our reality constantly. We all but ignore them as if they are a part of the background. Extras become much like building structures, vehicles, trees, and signs. The scenery is almost invisible. It has no meaning to us.

 Humans have relationships with one another in the "common reality." A common reality is created when personal realities merge for the sake of the human experience. Common reality is one in which the majority has agreed upon. The common reality sets down rules of living. Certain items must be accounted for in order maintain a common reality. All parties must agree on the mundane aspects of this universal agreement, such as names of objects. Everyone must be able to agree that an orange is an orange and an apple is an apple. If someone calls an apple an orange, the common reality is disturbed. Extras exist within the common reality, but are not a part of it. Extras are merely a part of the back drop.


 The difference between a human and an extra is the level of consciousness. Extras are but a shell of a human. They possess limited consciousness. A human on the other hand possesses the level of consciousness with which we are all familiar. You could compare an extra's consciousness to that of an insect. Extras are given enough awareness and intelligence to complete their tasks before they are removed from the fleeting scene that summoned them. How does one tell an extra from a human? True humans can be distinguished from extras when a meaningful exchange occurs. The event must have meaning to you. Significant events occur in people's lives that have no meaning to them. If you are in a grocery store and a complete stranger strikes up a spirited conversation with you, that person is most likely human. If you think you have identified an extra you are probably wrong. Once you intently focus on a particular person in your background, that person begins to take on meaning to you. That creates a bit of a paradox doesn't it? I understand the extra theory is very unusual, but it is certainly plausible. It has a place among the many theories that our society holds about the nature of reality.

The Unknown Universe

By Dave Aleimda Let's consider an aspect of the invisible or hidden universe known as consciousness. Most of us following an illuminated path agree that we humans have consciousness because we are self-aware. This can be compared the famous scene in The Matrix where the lead character, Neo awakes up to his true condition in the machine pod. We can validate our own consciousness because we experience it. We are alive. Humans identify living things based on certain criteria, such as motor function, intelligence, memory, personality, emotion, etc. These are all aspects of the mind. Consciousness is not identifiable through the outward aspects of the mind. This process is inadequate for a subject that lies within the realm of metaphysics. Consciousness is elusive and difficult to detect using our physical senses. Many of us realize our true nature, but for most, the universe remains a mystery. There is a philosophy of mind known as "panpsychism". This term indicates that all things have consciousness. This includes those things that are considered inanimate by the uninformed. I'm talking about the plant and mineral kingdom. Do rocks possess consciousness? Do they have intelligence and feelings? I believe all things do to some degree. Our measure of intelligence is of no use to the rest of the universe. A crow has no use for geometry. Nor does a wolf need a cell phone. That does not mean crows and wolves are unintelligent. We do not understand their thought processes, yet we judge and label them based on our standards. This is unfortunate for us. As panpsychism suggests, consciousness exists everywhere. Consciousness exists in our very cells or organs. Every atom in the universe holds consciousness. As I like to say, just because you cannot see it, does not mean it does not exist. There is consciousness at every level in the material world. There are even alien intelligences at work in our reality. I am not referring to the kind from outer space. In order to become aware of this hidden world, we need to be open to it. If you cannot accept the panpsychic view of the universe, you are effectively blocked from it. The first step is to remove the veil of ignorance and embrace the truth. We can become aware of the truth through meditation. With a regular meditation practice, the living splendor of the universe will reveal itself. This essential tool also helps seekers awaken to the Universal Consciousness, some call God. It's amazing that the universe is chock full of consciousness and yet we are aware of less than 1% of it. As people continue to awaken to the truth, society's attitude towards seemingly inanimate objects will turn to a more enlightened view. Spatial Relationships and the Nonphysical Universe

We take it for granted that space can be measured. This act is based upon our ability to perceive objects. We experience life dimensionally. Space is a quality particular to physical reality. In truth, space is nothing more than an illusory concept. However, because of the nature of reality, we are obligated to accept the features we call time and space.

The idea of distance was created by the great architect to make our reality possible. We know this to be true simply because dimensionality is an integral feature of physical reality. Without dimension, we would exist as literal flatlanders. Reality does not work any other way. It's hard to imagine a world without recognizable boundaries. We cannot manipulate objects in physical reality without the use of dimension.

If you want to imagine a world without dimension, look to your dreams. My dreams lack the attribute I call "common reality." Common reality is society's general agreement on the nature of the reality and our relationship with the things in it, including each other. Dreams are devoid of anything resembling the common reality. Some people's dreams are more than vivid than others are. My dreams are almost always in black and white. They are only visuals and do not allow my other senses to take part. My wife on the other hand, dreams in color and hears voices. She often finds herself in former residences looking at extra rooms that are not part of the physical structure. These rooms very much exist. They are part of the nonphysical environment. The locations of these rooms do not correspond to the physical layout of the house in the dream. The boundaries of these spaces are impossible to measure. That is nature of the invisible universe.

My references dreams are intended to illustrate the lack of spatial attributes that marks the entire physical and nonphysical multiverse. Only within certain domains does the concept of dimension exist. Dreams themselves occupy one nonspecific region of the multiverse and in many respects, can be likened to the general composition of the nonphysical universe.

There are infinite worlds that have chosen to adopt the time/space standard. Citizens of our sphere have accepted time and space as a condition of experiencing this reality. We have also agreed to a kind of amnesia that keeps us remembering our in-between life. This part of us has been hidden in order to make our experience possible. I call this phenomenon "temporal hypnotic amnesia." When an entire population is affected by this distinguishing characteristic, the phrase would be "mass temporal hypnotic amnesia."

The process of rediscovering the truth lies within. An inquisitive nature or intuitive event can trigger a person's awakening. Over time, the awakened "sleeper" experiences an unmistakable mind expansion in which higher knowledge is revealed. This is the path of illumination. We must all take the illumined path at the appointed time. I hope some of you will discover the path by comprehending the wisdom of this article.

The Mystery of the Number 23

The 23 effect is a matter of strange circumstances. It has dubbed an anomaly by those familiar with its usual effect. Some people call it conspiracy. This prime number appears in the most unusual places. We see 23 embedded in the fabric of world history. Some of the most important events of our past have traces of the number 23. The number 23 is not restricted to historical events however. It can also be found in most ordinary situations. It has no preference for the common or spectacular. Here are few places 23 have chosen to show itself:

- The recent book 23 minutes in hell
- The 23rd psalm
- 23 chromosomes
- Julius Caesar was stabbed 23 times.
- There are 2,300 stones comprising the Great Pyramid.
- It takes 23 seconds for blood to circulate through the human body.
- Mayan prophecy states the world will come to an end on December 23, 2012.
- The biorhythmic cycle of a human being is said to be 23 days.
- There are 23 vertebrae in the human body.
- The Ancient Egyptians celebrated the New Year on July 23.

Thousands of people have found themselves stalked by this number. Many people get spooked and paranoid at seeing this number turn up repeatedly throughout their day or week. It can be unsettling to have anything following you, especially when you have no idea why. The number 23 has almost become a case of mass hysteria. Evidence of its hold on us came in 2007 when the big screen movie The Number 23 starring Jim Carey was released. The story line follows the journey of a man driven mad by the number 23. What could be the meaning of the 23 effect?

Twenty-three is the number of synchronicity. Google defines synchronicity as the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection. The number 23 has an uncanny way of appearing at times when we least expect it. There seems to be no obvious relationship between this number and the corresponding event. The properties of the number 23 are mysterious. It possesses an elusive nature. It's difficult to isolate exactly why 23 appears at the exact moment a significant event occurs. Even mathematicians are unable to explain the mechanics behind this process. I'm sure it's a science we have yet to understand.

I came upon a theory to explain this mystery during an intuitive moment. The physical and nonphysical universes are two sides of what mystics call the multiverse. Within the infinite multiverse are spheres, dimensions, or domains, which contain words such as our own. These spheres are not free-floating bubbles in a void. They have invisible walls separating them. I like to use the analogy of guestrooms within a large hotel. The walls themselves are actually nonexistent, just like the one that seems to separate us from our loved ones who have gone through the transition. These spheres move back and forth. When there is a conjunction of two domains at a specific point in the time space continuum, a chain of events is set off resulting in the 23 effect. This is called an "angling edge." The architecture of the universe is fantastic and cannot be completely conceived by the human mind. This is my humble theory of the 23 effect. Perhaps it will clear up a rather long and weary mystery.

Parallel Universes and the Moose

The thought of a parallel universe is far beyond the comprehension of many people. However, this could answer some of mankind's oldest questions.

Many times people see objects or beings that are in fact unexplainable as to how they could be where they are seen. Many times these beings come and go in an instant, even before we consciously realize or can comprehend what we have just seen.

Have you ever tried to explain one of these events to a friend? I'm sure in most cases, your friend was ready to have you committed. It is my firm belief these events do take place, there have just been too many of them for it to be a figment of one's imagination. Taking into consideration there is many times physical evidence of the encounter makes it hard to explain it away.

Several years ago, I experienced one such event. It all began as I was driving to work one cold snowy Indiana morning, and as is normally the case, it was over before I had a chance to fully realize what had occurred.

I had traveled down this particular road many, many times, it was near where I lived and was a popular route for many people to travel from one town to another. Due to the familiarity and remote nature of the drive, one's mind could easily drift off in thought. Such was the case this morning, hardly thinking about where I was or what I was doing, I approached a familiar stop sign.

Thinking more about the cold and dreary workday ahead of me than my current surroundings, I prepared to turn on the approaching road and proceed to work. As I looked to my right at a snow covered bank along the road, I suddenly saw a rather large moose awkwardly climbing up the hill.

This got my attention as I had never seen a real live moose before, they are by no stretch of the imagination a native species of Indiana. The closest animal to a moose found in these parts would be a deer, but this was no deer. The moose was at least three times larger than a deer and I have never seen a deer with antlers the size of the rack on this beast.

As the moose struggled to climb the hill I turned onto the coming road and soon lost sight of the animal. Not thinking to stop and observe, I continued on my way and never saw the visitor from another world again.

This was many years before I developed an interest in the paranormal and even though I thought about it occasionally, I pretty much forgot about it. Thinking back it may have been a wake up call for me to investigate further the possibility of life in other dimensions.

I had often thought about the concept of alternate or a parallel universe. There are many ways they could exist and after studying the concept and from personal experience, I am convinced they do indeed exist.

Some of the parallel universes are many, many light years away, however even those as well as many of the more common are here with us now, existing along side our daily lives. The reason we don't observe them is they are operating at a different vibrational rate than we living in the third dimension.

I often liken it to tuning a radio, even though a radio can play many different formats, the only one we can hear is the particular station we are tuned into. So it is with alternate universes, the only one we observe is the one we are tuned into and operating at the same frequency.

When we observe something like the moose or another extraterrestrial form, it means we have some how accessed a path to an alternate reality. I feel we are the ones doing this and not the entity, as one can observe the alternate dimension while someone sitting next to us sees nothing.

If the alien life form entered our reality, they would be visible to all who are near us. This very often is not the case. The encounter is normally an individual event or one experienced by only a few people, not large masses. Thus, these encounters as well as all things of a spiritual nature are a matter of personal evolvement and enlightenment and as such are not seen or experienced by the masses.

I have traversed the globe in search of truth, my truth, during which time I have had an opportunity to study with Aborigine elders, native American Indians, and some of the world's finest intuitive. All of this has lead me to better understand our world and all things therein contained.

The Year of the Dragon

Chinese New Year 2012, 'The Year of the Dragon' begins January 23rd. If you were born in the years 1952 or 2012 your symbol would be the Water Dragon. The Dragon is the Chinese Zodiac symbol for the years 1904 - 1916 - 1928 - 1940 - 1952 - 1964 - 1976 - 1988 - 2000 - 2012. The five elements which are attached to the Dragon are metal, wood, fire, water and earth. Each element is said to have an influence which alters the personality of the Dragon.

I love the 'Dragon' symbol in the Chinese Zodiac. To me it seems the most dramatic of the Zodiac Symbols, the most colorful and the most powerful. Just looking at a picture of the Dragon seems to imply activity. I can just see it in my mind's eye spewing out fire and roaring to capacity. And truth be told, the Dragon is the most powerful of the signs. People born in the 'Year of the Dragon' are often driven to accept challenges and to take risks and can often be quite successful. Unfortunately, some Dragons are never satisfied and keep looking for bigger challenges and risk taking.

One thing that is almost never a risk in the Chinese Culture is the food. The Chinese New Year is a reason to celebrate and celebrating is often done with food as it is in so many cultures. There are many foods that are symbolic of the Chinese New Year. There are Tea Eggs, Bean Cakes, Fish Salad, and whole Chicken to name a few.

Tea Eggs symbolize fertility. Cracked Hard-cooked Eggs are soaked in a Tea Leave/Soy Sauce Mixture until they absorb the pigment from both. Eggs for good reason are a symbol of fertility in most cultures around the world.

Yu Sheng, the Chinese Fish Salad is important because the raw ingredients symbolize the renewal of life and what is the New Year all about if not that? Yu Sheng is made with fresh melon, sesame seeds and raw fish which is dressed with Lime Juice, Olive Oil and White Pepper.

The whole Chicken represents the bond of family and is usually prepared by simmering with vegetables.

Bean Cakes are favored for their sweetness which symbolizesa rich, sweet life. while the round shape signifies family reunion.

Puddings are also a favorite for Chinese New Year's. One favorite is Eight Precious Ingredients Pudding whose ingredients represent precious stones. Its ingredients include glutinous rice, candied fruit, dates and bean paste. While this may be a favorite Chinese Pudding, the ingredients that it contains makes it very rich and one can probably eat only a small portion of it at one time. A simpler substitute would be a pudding such as mango or almond custard. Following are the recipes for Mango Pudding and Almond Custard Tarts.

MANGO PUDDING

4 oz. fresh Orange Juice

1 Tbsp. fresh Lime Juice

1 Pkg. plain Gelatin

1 (12 oz.) Mango

4 oz. Sour Cream

1/2 cup Whole Milk

1/3 cup Sugar

Mango Slices for Garnish

DIRECTIONS:


Combine the Orange and Lime Juices in a small saucepan. Sprinkle the Gelatin over the top.
Let stand 10 minutes or until the Gelatin is softened.
Stir over low heat until Gelatin dissolves; let stand until cooled.
Peel and slice the Mango; cut the slices into chunks.
Combine the Mango, Sour Cream, Milk and Sugar in food processor or blender.
Run until the mixture is smooth.
Pour into a medium mixing bowl and blend in the Gelatin mixture.
Pour into (6) 6-ounce custard cups and chill in the refrigerator for several hours or until firm.
Garnish with the Mango Slices.


Yield: 6 Servings

ALMOND CUSTARD TARTS

CRUST:

2 cup All-Purpose Flour

1 cup Powdered Sugar

8 oz. Butter, softened

1 Egg

1/4 tsp.. Tahitian Vanilla

FILLING:

4 Eggs

1/2 oz. Superfine Sugar

2 cups Whole Milk

1 cup Cream

1/4 tsp. tsp. Almond Extract

Strawberries or Mandarin Orange slices for Garnish

DIRECTIONS:


Combine the Flour and Powdered Sugar in a medium-size mixing bowl.
Cut the Butter into several pieces and then cut into the Flour mixture with a pastry blender.
Beat the Egg with the Vanilla and mix into the Flour/Butter mixture with a fork or use your hands. You should have a smooth ball of dough.
Divide the Dough into half; cut each half into thirds and then cut each third in half. (12 pieces in all)
Lightly roll each piece into a ball, and then flatten with the palm of your hand. (If necessary, dust with a small amount of flour to keep from sticking)
Press each piece of Dough into a 3" tart pan. Press up the sides and trim at the top. (The pieces of dough may also be rolled out with a stockinette covered rolling pin)
Set the Tart Shells aside while you are making the custard.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees,
In a large mixing bowl, beat the Eggs with a wire whisk; add the Sugar and beat until the Sugar is dissolved.
Stir in the Milk and Cream and Almond Extract.
Place the Tart Shells on a jelly roll pan and pour in the Custard to within about one-fourth inch from the top.
Bake until the custard is cooked and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. (About 30-35 minutes)
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
Serve at room temperature; store leftover tarts in the refrigerator, but bring up to room temperature before serving.
Garnish the individual tarts with Strawberry Fans or Mandarin Orange Slices.
Yield: 10 -12 Tarts
