Chinese New Year (2011)
Rabbit Year 2011 is considered with regard to the characteristics of those born during Rabbit Years. Influences of the 5 Elements upon these individuals are outlined and some general recommendations made before well-known links between longevity, Rabbits and this fourth Sign of the Chinese Zodiac are discussed
Year of The Rabbit (2011)
Your birth year, the Fourth Sign of the Chinese Zodiac? If you become 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 (and so-on in 12-year increments). between 3rd February 2011 and 23rd January 2012 (when Rabbit Year ends) or know of a baby due during this period, this article might interest you and, similarly, those with partners, friends, relatives or colleagues in this category. Others might wish, in general, to discover what Chinese Culture and Tradition has to say about those born in The Year of The Rabbit.
Animal Games
Once, the animal Olympics were held to determine which animal should start the cycle via a race ending with crossing a raging river before a sprint home. Smart rat gave the cat the wrong start time, sneaked a ride on Ox's back over the river and dashed over the finish line first (Ox came second). The cat (Tiger) arriving late for the race came third, was furious, and consequently has been chasing the rat ever since! Lucky Rabbit (see below) found some stepping-stones and arrived next.
Rabbit Resume
Essentially Rabbits are relaxed, laid back and into various forms of cultivation. They are considered the most fortunate of the 12 Animal signs of the Chinese Ganzhi System. They rarely gamble (being conservative at heart and risk-averse) but do so skillfully when tempted. They are reliable and trustworthy and the last to renege on contractual commitments but can be a little too easy-going at times. Fond of gossip they are articulate, virtuous and well-liked. In relationship terms, Rabbits, who enjoy secure comfortable home-life, are most 'at-home' with those born under the Signs of the Sheep, Dog and Pig and least with those born under the Signs of the Rooster and Rat
Animals in Their Element
Underpinning the continuing 12 Year Animal Cycles is a 10-Year Elemental Cycle (5 Elements repeating sequentially in first Big Yang and then Small Yin Mode) with the Year Element (Yin Metal in the case of Rabbit Year 2011) modifying both Year Energies and Rabbit individual natures as shown below, So far, in this new 12-Year Cycle (beginning in 2008) Year Animals and Year Elements have been: 2008 Yang Earth Rat; 2009 Yin Earth Ox; 2010 Yang Metal Tiger and 2011 Yin Metal Rabbit. These will be followed in 2012 and 2013 by a Yang Water Dragon and Yin Water Snake respectively.
Rabbit Retrospective
Those born this Rabbit Year will be Yin Metal Rabbits but in earlier 12-Year Cycles this necessarily varied and their 'resume' requires modification as follows.
2011 and 1951 Metal Rabbit: Metal gives these strength and endurance (elemental colour white);
1999 and 1939 Earth Rabbit: Earth ensures the are well- grounded-- sometimes materialists (elemental colour yellow);
1987 and 1927 Fire Rabbit: Fired-up these can be Impatient, unpredictable and outgoing (elemental colour red);
1975 and 1915 Wood Rabbit: generous dreamers often versatile but introspective (elemental colour green);
1963 and 1903 Water Rabbit: Water makes these sensitive, emotional and eloquent (elemental colours blue/black).
Rabbit! Rabbit!
What does this mean for Rabbits? Well, becoming 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60 etc., in 2011, the Chinese believe one should spend time quietly meditating over the last 12 years and planning for the next 12--the exact opposite of the Western notion of wild birthdate celebrations-- instead a very quiet year spent focusing on self-review is indicated. You should avoid/put-off digging trenches, building foundations or laying drains i.e. major undertakings such as moving house (which would distract from this). I'm an Ox did this in Ox Year 2009, finding it a most useful experience.
Combining the 12 Animal and 5 Elemental Cycles gives 60 as a figure to consider and Rabbits reaching this key age in 2011 may be particularly well-advised to undergo this rewarding exercise. Year Animal/ Element birth combinations repeat after 60 years (hence the importance of self-review at this time) and if we add in the Yin/Yang dimensions of these calculations we get 120 asa figure to contemplate. The Chinese believe living in harmony with nature and the universe enables such lifespans and the 12 Animals and 5 Elements plus their Yin/Yang attributions represent these forces.
Rabbits gazing at the next full Moon should (like the Chinese) see themselves, (a Rabbit), there, standing under a tree, paw holding the elixir of life. From their reproduction rate, there's never going to be a world rabbit shortage! Thus the rabbit is a Chinese longevity symbol-- its lunar location emphasises this via links to the reproductive cycle. The 5 Elements, the 12 Animals.their Yin/Yang associations and longevity are all good subjects to meditate on during Rabbit Year 2011.

Celebrating Thanksgiving
This is America's oldest celebration, predating the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War by some 150 years. Like so many of our celebrations, the meaning has become less clear over the intervening centuries. The purpose of this writing is to give some historical perspective to the celebration of Thanksgiving as well as the significance of some of the traditions that have been a part of this celebration since its inception in what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621. There is some debate among historians on this matter, many arguing that the first formal Thanksgiving was in 1619 some 20 miles upstream from Jamestown at a settlement known as Berkeley Hundred. For our purposes, it sufficient to acknowledge that Thanksgiving, whether first celebrated at Berkeley Hundred in 1619 or Plymouth in 1621, has been a part of our cultural heritage that predates our independence from England by more than 150 years.
History reveals that the early settlers of the Jamestown colony were faced with extraordinary hardships. Archeological work on the site shows an extraordinary period of draught that spanned the 6 years from 1606 to 1612. During that time, the early colonists were trying to survive in the driest period the geographic region had experienced in almost 800 years! The colonists were very nearly wiped out by starvation.
It occurred to me that this drought might have been precipitated by a significant volcanic eruption, which is one known cause of climate disruptions such as drought. However, my research revealed no eruptions near that date.
Whatever the reasons for it, suffice it to say, Jamestown's settlers suffered terribly as they tried to gain a foothold in the new world. In my opinion, it was this tremendous suffering which resulted in the Thanksgiving celebration. The early colonists were certain to have been exceedingly thankful that crops were flourishing and starvation was behind them. The first Thanksgiving feast was said to have lasted 3 days and was attended by 53 colonists and 90 or so Native Americans.
So this is what we celebrate today, the survival of the colonists against harsh conditions in an unfamiliar landscape. The tenacity of these brave souls is an integral part of our heritage and deserves to be celebrated. Without these stoic colonists, there would be no United States of America.
The first Thanksgiving we celebrated as a sovereign nation was by presidential decree, signed by George Washington, October 3rd, 1789. This was not designated as a recurring holiday under federal law, so successive presidents right through Franklin D. Roosevelt made similar decrees on an annual basis.
Finally, in 1941, both houses of the United States Congress passed a joint resolution fixing the date of Thanksgiving as the last Thursday in November. The Senate amended the resolution in December of that same year to the fourth Thursday in November, cognizant of the fact that occasionally there are 5 Thursdays in the month. President Roosevelt signed this amended bill and for the first time in our nation's history the date of Thanksgiving was fixed by federal law.
These are the facts we should be mindful of as we continue the traditional observance of Thanksgiving Day here in the United States.

How Can the Crystal Skulls Save the World?
Many people learned about crystal skulls (pieces of quartz crystal carved or created into a likeness of a human bone skull) when the last Indiana Jones film aired initially in May of 2008. Unfortunately how real crystal skull investigators and spiritually opened people experience the crystal skulls is not exactly what was shown on the screen. Now I have made a bold statement in the title of this article that I am going to support via some experiences I have had with these crystal friends and what they represent.
First of all, I saw my first (what we call an "ancient" crystal skull, a skull made 1000 years or older) in 1983. As I was just gazing at a photo of this crystal skull, it set off a strong inner vibration inside of me and I just knew in this moment they were vital for the future of humanity (this was a soul knowingness). The crystal skull that I met this day is publicly known as "Ami" (which means friend) and its made our of amethyst quartz, about 8 lbs so it would be a child skulls and purportedly was uncovered in the early 1900's near a Mayan ruin in Mexico.
How did I know they were important - at that instance, I was overwhelmed with a strong desire that I must share the best information I could (over 26 years now) about who they are and what they represent.
Lets continue with a few more experiences as bullet points so you get an idea of how the crystal skulls can effect you personally and WHAT we have seen from a research perspective:
a) Flash - had an opportunity to visit in Indiana, the home of Bill Homann, the guardian of the famous Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull of Love (clear quartz, two pieces, human size, ancient skull) in March of 2008 for a private session - brought three personal skulls with me which I placed in a triangular shape around the skull (a big one in the front and two smaller ones in the back) and while listening to favorite songs on my MP3 player had contact with a universal being (being more than an individual entity) and felt as if I was experiencing what it was like to be in Heaven (it was so calm and peaceful).
b) Flash - Christmas Time, 1991, in my current home near Chicago, Joke Van Dieten, the guardian of "ET" (smoky quartz, alien looking, human size, ancient skull) was visiting - while meditating with the crystal skull I saw the face of a man, possibly a Mayan Priest in the skull - during this visit brought this crystal together with the Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull in Indiana and also to the Bahai Temple north of Chicago. Both of these experiences were unbelievable.
c) Flash - Northern part of Peru in the Andes Mountain, while staying in a very primitively built house quite small, I had two visions of a totally translucent Sky Blue colored human sized Crystal Skull, two pieces with a tall masculine being standing behind it. Later when visiting the area known as Laguna Negra, a spirit speaks to me and gives the history of this crystal skull linked to the Lord of Sipan from the Moche Culture which is pre-Inca.
d) Flash - Crazy Experiments with our newly created crystal skull called "Portal de Luz" ("Portal of Light, smoky quartz, one piece, 10 lbs) - in tests with a device called a meridian stress test machine in America and Europe where he was balancing the energy of the various meridians in the test subjects bodies from 90-95%; when meditated with this skull in a crop circle in England done by my ex-wife, Blue Arrow Rainbow Eagle Woman in 2004, a lay line coming in from behind her broke into 2 parts and remained this way for the rest of the day - she said she during her mediation she had contact with two aliens who were puzzled why we humans were not just enjoying the Crop Circle they made and trying to prove it was a fake; and finally in a recent test with this skull by Joshua P. Warren in Asheville, N.C. when exposed to a watch that was radioactive - "Portal" absorbed or blocked about 60% of the radiation and when exposed to 300,000 volts he just smiled and asked for more.
Conclusions:
1) The ancient crystal skulls are the computers from civilizations in the far past containing information that can help our world see total peace and harmony - we just have to figure out how to receive this knowledge.
2) All crystal skulls have the ability to store amazing energy and the vibrational frequencies of everything that happens around them if this skull has been already activated or opened.
3) The crystal skulls act like living beings with an intelligence - the newly made skulls even are speaking to their guardians and tell the guardians what to name to give them.
4) A number of the indigenous prophecies state the crystal skulls are involved in helping to create our future and some prophecies say there is a special set of crystal skulls (13, 24, 72, etc...) they will come back together and when they do, this is the catalytic moment which takes us into a golden age.
5) For now they are acting as a catalyst to awaken within the people they meet their inner divinity, an awareness and contact with such!!
So now you know why the study of the skulls have taken over 26 years of my life and that I will never ever be bored. More and more crystal skulls (the old ones) are being found and coming out each day - its an exciting time!!
Thanks for listening, in peace and light always,
Joshua Shapiroa crystal skull explorer.

Science and the Paranormal
Well it's not so much what science says as what it implies. With the advent of modern physics especially relativity and quantum theory ghost investigations are taking on a whole new dimension. (no pun intended)
Newtonian physics tells us that for every process on earth and indeed in the universe a transfer of energy is involved. Processes may be endothermic (they consume energy) or exothermic (they give off energy). A common feature of many hauntings as reported by many observers is a chill or coldness in the vicinity of a haunting. Any entity (ie ghost) that presents itself into an environment needs energy to be visible or audible to an observer. Where does the energy come from? The local environment is the likely source even if that locality has a living, breathing, warm human radiating the energy. If this analysis is true then ghosts are viable entities that exist in out world. They consume energy and presumably radiate energy aswell. If a ghost is visible it is an energy consuming entity. Now what does quantum theory and relativity say or imply about hauntings?
There is a school of thought that says if we see a ghost or a scene from the past we are simply seeing a "rerun of history". Modern post newtonian physics teaches that time itself is malleable. Time goes faster or slower depending on the speed and gravity. Years ago on cbcs "As it Happens" was the story of a haunting in England (where else?). This particular place in an old monastery was known as an exceptionally odd example of ghostly activity. The ghosts of long deceased monks were observed only from their knees up! It seems the old monasteries floors had successively been raised throughout the centuries! Now it was at knee level for the spirits! This would seem to lend credence to the "rerun of history" theory of spectral activity.
Of course the reader will now wonder how is that possible? How can scenes from the past play back for us today centuries after the occurrence? Unfortunately no one has a credible answer. However physics does drop a few hints. On the micro quantum level down to atoms and beyond things, especially time do not behave as they do in our world. Some physicists (google Dr Ronald Mallette, time travel) believe times goes in loops. If this is true then a haunting plausibly is an endless loop of time, or kind of like an old fashioned vinyl when the needle gets stuck. How this would occur no one knows. All we can say is that somehow it might. The opportunities for research here are exciting and in my next article we will take a look at the possibility of extra dimensions and how this could relate to ghosts, hauntings and the "spirit realm".

Best Time of Year to Travel to the Caribbean
When planning a vacation on a tropical island in the Caribbean, weather and the cost, are the two main components used in deciding when to go.
For most people weather is the number one concern, most Caribbean Islands lie in proximity to the Equator, and enjoy one season - summer. Temperatures are generally in the 80's all year long, caressed by ocean breezes that cool the islands and keeps the humidity down. Hurricanes occur each year, starting late July thru October, and is another weather condition to be considered. Rain is common on all the islands, that is why they are so lush and tropical, the rainy season varies from one island to the other, usually between May to early December, while on some islands there are rain showers in January.
The most expensive time, to visit the Caribbean, is usually during the Christmas and New Years season, as well as during the months of January to Late April. Hotel rates usually rise during the holiday season, because of the demand of travelers. In many countries around the world, winter is January to late March or even to early April and residents of those countries seek out tropical locations and are willing to pay the cost of getting away from snow and freezing weather.
During the early part of the year the weather is more dependable, rain seldom, if ever, intrudes on the sunny days. The oceans are naturally calmer and clearer, allowing vacationers to plan diving, scuba and boating trips, without a worry that the weather might cause their plans to be disrupted.
For many, planning a vacation to a Island in the Caribbean, the decision must be based on visiting after the hotel rates and airfares go down, hoping that there will be no storms, hurricanes or rain, to disrupt their daily activity, and thus save money. Or should they plan on a time when the rates are higher, but when one is almost sure that their holidays will not be disrupted by unwanted weather conditions.
Another factor, to be considered, are the holiday seasons - Easter and Spring Break vacations, usually see a rise in rates. Special events on the islands, such as Jazz Festivals, Golf Tournaments, sailing regattas and Carnival in Trinidad (which is one of the most popular) are among reasons that Hoteliers and tour companies raise their rates.
Those who plan on participating or visiting during these events, do not have much of a choice, but for the rest of those who are planning a trip to a Caribbean Island, a little research can result in a a wonderful vacation at considerable saving.

Ideas for Balance and Harmony in a Woman’s Life
Barbara Garcia
The miracle of birth is brought into this world by women. They are the producers and nurturers of life. Women’s intuition is a spontaneous attribute that can be highly accurate and often accessed to the well being of others before themselves.
Strong, intuitive women can be found in every profession or business. You will see her behind the scenes building solid foundations for benefit of others while taking credit for all that she does is rarely heard. Instead, she will move on to her next project with steady focus and grace.
An oasis of inner sensitivity to all energies of life, she must find balance and harmony that can encompass all that she intuits each and every day. Simple, easy to follow steps that lead to this integral part of a woman’s life are often viewed as sacred rituals that she alone will experience in sync with the nurturing cooperation of the Great Spirit of earth.
1) Deep REM sleep offers a reservoir of physical rejuvenation while the subconscious brings to surface answers and ideas to those problematic issues at hand. The sleeping area should be cleared of clutter and offer compatible offerings of slumber furnishings to your personality.
2) It is important to have a place to go that is private and secluded to replenish yourself, reflect, and release. This can be a place in your garden, a spare room, or even in a personal diary.
3) Have a designated outlet for removing any and all hidden emotions lurking within the body in the form of a physical daily activity such dancing, the gym, walking, jogging, etc. Keeping your energy circulating is healthy and energetically rewarding.
4) Surround yourself with meaningful affirmations and images that provoke your confidence, trust, and self- esteem. You will automatically become more magnetic with continued practice.
5) Keep your mind open and inspired by giving yourself a new resource of information by learning something new.
6) Stay connected to others by appreciating them. Find something that you sincerely like with everyone in your world. Let them know that you appreciate who they are or what they do. This deep love that you are feeling for others will boomerang right back to you and can create miracles.
7) Do something positive for your self image or whatever it is that you have been depriving yourself of. Maybe it is a change in your appearance; a new hairdo, outfit, or piece of jewelry. Maybe take in that play or movie you’ve wanted to see.
8) Every woman has a voice but many women will not ask for help because she does not want to burden anyone. Yet, when she is asked for help, no matter how inconvenient, it is difficult for her to say no. It is important to know who you want to help because of being overloaded. Women are always multi-tasking and juggling in their professional and personal life.
Balance and harmony is achieved when you begin to give to yourself the way to give to others. Within a brief period of time, you will feel much stronger and attentive with a deeper sense of serenity.
Enjoy Mothers Day and the Month of May

Mr. President (3-19-2010)
"Robert P. Watson, Ph.D. Coordinator of American Studies Lynn University "
http://www.thinkactlead.org/
I am always being asked to grade Obama's presidency. In place of offering him a grade, I put together a list of his accomplishments thus far. I think you would agree that it is very impressive. His first six months have been even more active than FDRs or LBJs the two standards for such assessments. Yet, there is little media attention given to much of what he has done. Of late, the media is focusing almost exclusively on Obama's critics, without holding them responsible for the uncivil, unconstructive tone of their disagreements or without holding the previous administration responsible for getting us in such a deep hole. The misinformation and venom that now passes for political reporting and civic debate is beyond description. As such, there is a need to set the record straight. What most impresses me is the fact that Obama has accomplished so much not from a heavy-handed or top-down approach but from a style that has institutionalized efforts to reach across the aisle, encourage vigorous debate, and utilize town halls and panels of experts in the policy-making process. Beyond the accomplishments, the process is good for democracy and our democratic processes have been battered and bruised in recent years. Let me know if I missed anything in the list (surely I did).
1. Ordered all federal agencies to undertake a study and make recommendations for ways to cut spending
I think this last accomplishment shows what kind of man we have for a president. I hope you have a great day.

Taurus:Fortunes are not foreseen for you till 18th, then gains are definitely observed for you to reap. You should not do any trading in the dates prior to 18th or any luck related activity.
Gemini:Times till 18th February are more supportive to you for luck and games related to luck. Risks taken in this period have more scopes for success. Rest of the days are 50:50

Leo:For you, the time till 18th is neither good nor bad, luck is not the question here. After 18th though caution seems to be the buzz word for you. If you play you lose will the rule, without exceptions.
Virgo:If you are interested in increasing your debts and worries please do go ahead and speculate till 18th, then onwards it does not matter if you are active or not, as generally not much gains are noticed.
Libra:Well, luck allows you to flirt with the markets this time till 18th at your heart's desire. Try to square off your positions by then as the period later on will be the Devil's playing field.
ScorpioHmmm, luck has no problems with you till 18th but does not like you too, till then. After 18th, speculation will reap results or at least luck will protect you from losses. Risks can be taken.
Sagittarius:Well, luck is there but needs some goading and care, just don't play blind, and this does not apply to Teen Patti only, till 18th, then just invest, don't speculate, stay clear from the gambling spirit
Capricorn:Not lucky, but if logical and analytical trades with proper stop loss and book profit margins are set, you may be able to sense luck, till 18th, then you too may need to put in more efforts and hardships, though misfortunes are not foreseen.
Aquarius:For you too luck or no luck, does not matter, you will not be lucky and neither unlucky, why not wait, sit and watch the markets and dip in when there is a fool proof opportunity, till 18th and beyond too.
Pisces:Why not do some other work? Is it necessary to meddle with luck? Got it? Of course you got it, at least make sure till 18th, then its ok to venture out once in a while, but still I do not guarantee any luck.
The above predictions are for Western Sun Signs or Sayan Paddhati. Your personal ascendant based horoscope and all the planets therein will definitely play the proper role and influence these predictions, but you can still use these as general guidelines and still benefit.
